Since the start of 2015, we have decided to change the name of the annual China Airport Check-In Summit to be the China Airport Passenger Experience Summit so as to better reflect the whole airport process of passengers, from check-in to security and further to aircraft boarding.

2015 marks the 6th edition of the Summit. The 6th China Airport Passenger Experience Summit 2015 will take place on 15th-17th April 2015, in Beijing. It is being organized by Summit Asia Events and supported by Beijing Capital International Airport and Air China.

At present, Chinese airports are facing the challenges of airport reconstruction and passenger increase. To address the challenges, they are actively investing in information technology and importing state-of-the-art self-service systems – such as bag tag printing, self-boarding and self-bag drops - to increase the efficiency of passenger processing and improve the passenger experience. The application of social media and mobile services also makes it possible for passengers to travel in an efficient and personalized way.

With the approaching of the 4G era and the popularity of smart phones, mobile internet is becoming an indispensable tool for travelers. With their smart phones, passengers can easily buy flight tickets, find flight updates, check themselves in, go through the security and board the aircraft. Besides from mobile technology, other new technologies such as smart watches and the Google Glass are winning the favor among passengers. This has also provided a new opportunity for airlines and airports to enhance their passenger experience.

The implementation of new ideas, the use of new technologies and the launch of self service facilities in China and worldwide are expected to illustrate the future scenario for airport passengers and to meet their future airport needs.

It is against this background that the 6th China Airport Passenger Experience Summit 2015 will be organized. We hope that you will be able to attend, so that together we can share new ideas, new visions and passion, on cutting-edge check-in processing technologies, baggage handling systems and ways to better enhance passenger experience.
